Celtic find themselves in an interesting position right now. With a ‘new’ manager in place in the form of Brendan Rodgers, fans have high hopes from this summer window. Rumours of the Northern Irishman being handed a massive transfer budget have only added to the expectations. And the Hoops have added Odin Thiago Holm and Marco Tilio to their ranks already.
At the same time though, they are on the verge of losing one of their best players in Jota, who looks to be on the verge of a major move to Al-Ittihad. Celtic might be set to pocket a big transfer fee as a result of it, but they need to find someone capable of replacing the Portuguese winger as well.
Rumours have suggested that the club are ready to break their transfer record this summer. But they are not overlooking ‘project’ signings either.
As tweeted out by Anthony Joseph, Celtic are stepping up their efforts to sign Hyun-jun Yang. The Hoops made an approach for the player last month, but Gangwon FC are reluctant to let him go during their season. It’s understood that the South Korean winger has now told club chiefs that he wants to move to Parkhead.

Yang clearly wants to make the move to Celtic this summer. He has even made comments in public about it over the past few days.
At the same time though, it is easy to understand why Gangwon FC are reluctant to part ways him in the middle of the K-League season. They find themselves near the bottom of the table right now.
