Celtic boss jokes about Michael Beale’s claim again

Celtic continued their march towards a second straight league title with a win over Dundee United. Jota and Aaron Mooy found their names on the score sheet on the day, as the Hoops went home with a 2-0 win and all three points in the bag. The result means that they are still nine points ahead of the Rangers in the Premiership table.

There is no doubt that the Rangers’ results have improved since the appointment of Michael Beale as manager, but they simply have not been able to cut into Celtic’s lead, thanks to the incredible consistency that the Hoops have showed throughout the course of the season. Even when their performances have been up and down at times, they have found a way to win.

Beale recently commented about Celtic’s transfer signings under the management of Postecoglou and labelled the Australian manager as a “lucky man”.

Now, Postecoglou seems to have made a subtle joke about those comments, when talking about Mooy. As reported by the Daily Record, the Celtic manager said:

“He (Mooy) has been great since the break. I am the least surprised about that.

“It’s one of these things in football that it literally landed at my doorstep. I knew what I was getting. Maybe you can use that term: I’m a lucky man.”

Celtic boss jokes about Beale’s claim when talking about Mooy and the impact that he has made

It is safe to say that Mooy has been in top form after the World Cup break. In the game against Dundee United, he managed to assist Jota’s goal before getting one of his own as well from the spot kick.

Right now, he is one of Celtic’s best players without doubt, on form. And he seems to be only getting better with time.

Yes, it is very true that Mooy had not looked like he was match fit when he had arrived and took some time to build up his form as well. But at the moment, he is playing some incredible football and has established himself as a key player.
