Tom Rogic returns to social media to send Celtic message

Tom Rogic departed Celtic at the end of last season in search of a new challenge, after spending almost a decade at Parkhead. It was quite the run as well, as the Australian produced some incredible moments that will be remembered forever and was part of one of the most successful periods in the Hoops’ history.

A lot of concerns were raised surrounding Rogic though, when he pulled out of the Australian national team squad and suggestions were that he was refusing to take phone calls as well.

Ange Postecoglou did give a positive update on Rogic’s situation recently though and now, the Australian has ended his social media absence as well, as Aaron Mooy completed a move to Celtic on a free transfer, after having left Shanghai Port.

He posted a couple of stories on his Instagram, first a picture of Mooy holding a Celtic jersey accompanied by clapping emojis and second, some comments that the Australia midfielder made about Rogic.

Rogic breaks silence and returns to social media after Celtic sign Mooy

It is safe to say that Rogic seemed delighted to see his Australian international teammate join his former club. It is also great to see him finally break his silence following his Celtic exit.

Rogic is without a club at the moment. He was linked with a surprise move to Indonesia recently but that failed to materialise. It will be interesting to see where football takes him next.

On the other hand, there are a lot of question marks about Mooy and whether he was the right signing for Celtic. The Australian midfielder is set to turn 32 soon and has spent the last couple of years playing in China.

At the same time though, Postecoglou will know Mooy well, from his time as the Australian national team manager. The midfielder is someone who does fit that style of football and has prior experience of Scottish football as well, as he has played for St Mirren in the past. Thus, while not a blockbuster signing, this could prove to be a smart one on the part of the Hoops.
