Celtic’s change in transfer approach since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager is perhaps the most impressive thing about the club. While once things dragged on for weeks and potentially months before reaching a resolution, now there is just an incredible efficiency when it comes to the Hoops.
We saw a glimpse of that in January itself when they made the triple signing of Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda and Yosuke Ideguchi immediately after the window opened. And when a move for Riley McGree failed to materialise, they did not take long to shift their eyes to Matt O’Riley.
This summer also, they have done a tremendous job signing both Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota on permanent deals. If rumours were accurate, the duo had a lot of interest in their signatures but ultimately ended up picking Parkhead.
Now, it looks like Aaron Mooy is headed to Parkhead as well despite being linked with the likes of Norwich City, Middlesbrough & Swansea City. Anthony Joseph tweeted out that he has agreed a short-term deal with Celtic, which also has the option of an extension:

Now, there have been quite a few Celtic fans who have been left underwhelmed with a move for a player who is set to turn 32 years of age and might not even be a regular starter for the club.
But then, Celtic do not exactly need a starter right now in the middle of the park. They need to replace Nir Bitton, who was not starting games regularly despite the fact that he was an important member of the team, often brought on to see out games.
Mooy, with his incredible experience and having played in Scotland in the past, is more than capable of playing a squad role. Also, he could be a very good back up option to Callum McGregor as well.
