Celtic have been linked with a number of players in recent times despite the fact that the Hoops do not need to make a lot of changes to their squad this summer. The Hoops are the defending Premiership champions and they have already signed Cameron Carter-Vickers, Jota, Daizen Maeda, Alexandro Bernabei and Benjamin Siegrist on permanent deals.
There are still a few positions where the club could do with reinforcements and one of them is striker, especially if Albian Ajeti brings an end to his nightmare run at Parkhead.
Ajeti had arrived in a big move from West Ham United in the summer of 2020 but it is safe to say that he has not proven to be a success. On the other hand, while both Kyogo and Giorgos Giakoumakis have been brilliant, they have had their injury woes, and thus, Celtic do need a quality backup option up front.
As reported by the Irish Mirror, Sinclair Armstrong has signed a contract extension and is targeting first-team football at Queens Park Rangers next season. The youngster had been linked with the likes of Manchester City and Celtic in recent times.
Celtic-linked striker signs contract extension and is targeting first-team football at QPR
Armstrong is just 19 years of age and as a result, nobody would expect him to come in and immediately make an impact at Celtic at the senior level. Of course, there are some exceptions to that rule as well, like Jeremie Frimpong.
It will be interesting to see how things turn out for the Ireland youth international for QPR in the upcoming season.
