It is not often that Celtic players are linked with a move to Atletico Madrid, but it looks like that is the case this time around. The Hoops have certainly impressed since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager last summer, winning the Premiership and the League Cup against all odds, just a season after finishing 25 points behind the Rangers and without a single piece of silverware.
Thus, it goes without saying that the manager deserves a lot of credit but at the same time, so do the players, a number of whom only arrived last summer.
One such player was Josip Juranovic. The Croatian international was signed from Legia Warsaw last summer and it has proven to be a masterstroke on the part of Celtic. He has gone on to feature for the club wherever needed, whether it be at right-back, left-back or on the wings.
The versatility was vital in the first half of the campaign, when the squad was thin and the manager did not have a lot of options to pick his team from. That kind of ability appears to have caught the eye of some of the biggest teams in Europe though.
Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Celtic star this summer
As reported by Sky Sports, Atletico Madrid are interested in Juranovic. The Hoops have not received any offers yet though and do not want to part ways with the Croatian. Thus, it is expected to take a huge offer for the situation to change.
It remains to be seen how things unfold over the coming weeks and months in the Juranovic saga but it must be said that the club are under no real pressure to let him go just yet, having already gotten guaranteed Champions League football.
