Celtic star linked with shocking exit by Fabrizio Romano

Celtic have made some brilliant signings ever since Ange Postecoglou has arrived as the manager of the club. The Hoops seemed to be heading towards a transitional phase, after finishing trophyless and 25 points behind the Rangers in a disastrous 2020/21 campaign, and then losing key stars like Scott Brown, Ryan Christie, Odsonne Edouard, Kristoffer Ajer and a few others, all in one summer. But instead, they went onto win a Premiership and League Cup double last season.

Postecoglou deserves a lot of credit and so do the players, especially those who arrived last summer and did not take a lot of time to settle in, and delivered immediately.

One such player was Josip Juranovic. The Croatian international proved to be a great addition for Celtic, starring at both right-back and left-back through the course of the season. He has also been been immense for his national team lately.

There appears to be some very bad news for Celtic though. Fabrizio Romano, arguably the most reliable name when it comes to football transfer rumours, has claimed that Juranovic is expected to leave the club this summer and is attracting the interest of Premier League sides. He tweeted out:

Celtic could be set for a shocking transfer blow this summer

This news has come completely out of the blue. Yes, Celtic players are always potentially on the move but the Croatian just arrived last summer, and there has been nothing to suggest that he is not happy where he is at right now. In fact, quite the contrary.

But such is professional football, and if an offer came in that suited all parties, it would not be a surprise to see him leave this summer following this update.

It would be very interesting to see what kind of a transfer fee Celtic could get out of Juranovic’s potential exit.
