Celtic and Rangers both want to sign £3 million star

Celtic and the Rangers are both expected to be looking to strengthen their respective squads over the summer transfer window. On one hand, the Hoops are guaranteed to be returning to the group stage of the UEFA Champions League and must be keen to make an impression after such a long absence from the competition. On the other hand, Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side would surely want to bounce back after failing to defend the league title last time around.

Celtic have already started the summer brilliantly by completing a permanent move for Cameron Carter-Vickers and one for Jota is considered to be only a matter of time as well. Both players impressed on loan last season.

The club are being linked with several other new players as well though, and it looks like they have a common transfer target with the Rangers this summer.

As tweeted out by Geoff Peters, Celtic and Rangers are both keen on Blackburn Rovers’ highly-rated youngster Tyrhys Dolan. Nottingham Forest are also believed to hold an interest in the 20-year-old. He has a couple of years left on his current deal and a transfer fee around £2 million to £3 million might be required to sign him from the Championship side.

Both Celtic and Rangers want to sign the Championship star

Dolan has been quite impressive in recent times to say the least. He is a versatile player, capable of playing up front or on the wings.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 8 goals and provided 6 assists in 76 appearances for Blackburn Rovers.

That is quite a bit of experience for someone who is just 20 years of age. Now, it remains to be seen if Celtic are able to sign him or not. There definitely appears to be quite a bit of interest in the youngster’s signature this summer.
