Sky Sports man confirms Celtic are in advanced talks for player

Celtic’s transfer approach has undergone a change since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager. We saw proof of that in January as  they moved quickly to sign the trio of Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda and Yosuke Ideguchi. In the past, one of the common complaints that fans have had is that the Hoops do not show any urgency or efficiency in transfer windows.

This has seen them lose out on players like John McGinn and Ivan Toney in recent years. But now, it seems that they have their targets clear from early on and move for them swiftly.

Celtic have already signed Cameron Carter-Vickers from Tottenham Hotspur this summer in a deal that could rise up to £10 million with add-ons. On the other hand, a move to make Jota’s stay permanent is believed to be only a matter of time as well.

And now, as tweeted out by Anthony Joseph, Celtic are in advanced talks with Benjamin Siegrist.

Celtic have been linked with a move for Siegrist for quite a while now. The Swiss goalkeeper is going to be a free agent this summer with his current deal with Dundee United running out.

Siegrist spent four seasons at Dundee United and during that period of time, he established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in all of Scotland. As a result, if Celtic are able to sign him on a permanent basis, it would be a major coup on the part of the Hoops.

Siegrist is a brilliant goalkeeper on his day, and could provide some real competition to Joe Hart for the first-team gloves. Scott Bain is firmly behind the Manchester City legend in the pecking order while Vasilis Barkas has left on a season-long loan to FC Utrecht.
