Celtic transfer target is pushing to leave current club

Midfield is an area that Celtic might need to strengthen in this summer. The Hoops have lost two experienced players in the middle of the park, with both Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton deciding to leave at the end of last season. Amongst all the transfer rumours swirling around the club, one potential Celtic target appears to have taken a step closer to leaving his current club.

Bitton spent almost a decade at the club and will definitely need some replacing, as they do not have someone in their ranks with a similar profile right now. But it looks like Celtic could be targeting another Israeli international in that position in the form of Maccabi Haifa’s Mohammed Abu Fani and they have been handed a boost as well.

As reported by ONE (via Daily Record), there have been talks behind the scenes between Maccabi Haifa chiefs and Dudu Dahan’s ScoutPush agency over an exit for Abu Fani. It is believed that the agent is keen to see the player move to a European league.

It looks like the club will not stand in the way of the player from securing a big move away, if the right offer was to come in. Rumours have suggested that Maccabi Haifa will let Abu Fani leave for a transfer fee around £800,000.

Celtic handed boost in the race to sign the international star

Celtic are among the clubs believed to be interested in Abu Fani and Dudu Dahan is a name that the fans will be very familiar with by now.

Fani has made multiple international appearances for Israel and it is believed that Celtic have been watching him play for his national team in their recent games.

There is also rumoured to be interest in the player from Europa League champions Eintracht Frankfurt and also Belgian clubs Royal Antwerp and Standard Liege. Now, it remains to be seen if Celtic can come out on top.
