Celtic should target Real Madrid winger this summer

With Champions League football returning to Celtic Park after years next season, the club should be eager to make an impression in the competition. Thus, do not be surprised to see the Hoops being active in the summer transfer window. While there is no need for a rebuild, like there was last summer, Ange Postecoglou could certainly do with a bit of strengthening of his squad.

One of the areas where he might need to bring someone in is on the wings, even if the club are able to sign Jota on a permanent basis from Benfica.

James Forrest, who was recently handed a new 3-year deal, has not been able to make much of an impact for a while now, struggling with fitness and form. On the other hand, Mikey Johnston does not seem to have a long-term future at Parkhead while Karamoko Dembele appears to be headed out as well.

Thus, Celtic do need to bring in a winger this summer and one players that they should target is Real Madrid’s Takefusa Kubo.

Why the Real Madrid winger could be a good signing for Celtic

Kubo has been one of the most highly-rated young players in Spain for a long time now but just has not been able to break through and have a splendid season, only showing glimpses of his quality here and there.

He is currently on loan at Mallorca and has had spells at clubs like Getafe and Villarreal as well. While his current deal with Real Madrid is believed to run till the summer of 2024, one would expect that he would be available on loan this summer as well.
