Stories about a potential backroom exit from Celtic, after the announcement of the departures of Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton, would have worried quite a few of the club’s fans, but now it looks like there might not be much to the rumours as they have been quickly dismissed.

It’s only a couple of days since Gavin Strachan was placed as the favourite to get the Dundee FC job.

With Mark McGhee arriving late in the season to try and save Dundee from relegation to the Championship, their failure to stay up was no great surprise. It has led to a vacancy in the managerial hot seat and it looks to be a tough job, as there will be expectations of a swift return to the Scottish Premiership.

Considering that, it was a bit of a surprise that the Celtic coach was mentioned as an option. But then, with Gordon Strachan set to become the Director of Football at Dundee, it is not hard to understand why such a rumour would be floating around.

Celtic coach does not appear to be in the running for the Dundee FC job

As reported by The Courier (via Football Scotland), Gavin Strachan is not being considered for the Dundee manager job.

The news is helpful for Celtic and Ange Postecoglou to say the least as it will allow them the chance to continuing with a very successful coaching team for the Hoops and ensure ongoing stability in the backroom team at Parkhead.

Postecoglou has spoken highly of his support team throughout the course of the season and their role in achieving the Scottish League Cup and Premiership double for the Hoops this season cannot be overlooked. Thus, one would expect that the manager would be keen to keep working with the team next season as well.
