Rangers fans sent into meltdown by Celtic hero after title win

Against all odds, Celtic are the champions of Scotland. This side was given close to zero chance at the start of the season and perhaps understandably so. They had finished 25 points behind the Rangers last season and did not win a single piece of silverware. On top of that, the club had lost several key players in the summer and had to undergo a major squad overhaul.

After they lost three of their first six league games of the season, many had even questioned whether they were good enough to finish second. Many predicted that Ange Postecoglou would be gone by Christmas.

Yet, here we are, with Celtic as the champions of Scotland for the 10th time in 11 seasons with a game to spare.

Chris Sutton was very popular during his playing career at Celtic and has managed to hold on to all of that as a pundit as well. And he sent the Rangers fans into meltdown as the Hoops sealed the Premiership title with a 1-1 draw at Dundee United. The former striker tweeted out:

Of course, the Rangers are going to the Europa League final where they will face Eintracht Frankfurt. And to be honest, they deserve a lot of credit for their run in Europe this season, having gotten their by beating teams like Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and SC Braga along the way.

But that does not mean that Celtic have not achieved something incredible here, especially with a spot in the UEFA Champions League group stage up for grabs.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side will have the chance to do that when they come up against Eintracht Frankfurt, Celtic already have.

This is the time for Celtic fans to look back on what has been a much better season than anybody could have envisioned, be proud of the team and celebrate. We have a huge 2022/23 season to look forward to already, with Champions League football and the league title to defend. Let’s see how far Postecoglou can take this side.
