‘Definitely’ – Journalist delivers interesting Celtic transfer update

Celtic are not expected to splash out and make wholesale changes to the squad this summer like they had to in the previous one. But at the same time, it is clear that there a number of areas where the Hoops still need to improve in, especially when it comes to Europe. Ange Postecoglou’s side were knocked out early from the UEFA Champions League qualification phase, the Europa League group stage and their first Europa Conference League tie.

What is going to hurt even more is the fact that the Rangers have thrived in Europe, reaching the Europa League final by beating teams like Borussia Dortmund, SC Braga and RB Leipzig along the way.

Hopefully, Celtic will use this as fuel to improve and succeed in their own upcoming European campaign and thus, expect them to strengthen their squad in the summer.

One player that they have been linked with recently is Ola Solbakken, who scored and assisted against Celtic when the Hoops faced Bodo/Glimt in the Europa Conference League. And journalist Pete O’Rourke believes that the winger would definitely be on the club’s radar. As reported by This is Futbol, he said:

“Yeah, he’s done well for Bodo/Glimt and obviously Celtic will be well aware of the player having come across him in Europe this season when they knocked Celtic out.

“So it’s definitely somebody that will be on their radar from that I’m sure the Celtic fans will have been impressed what they’ve seen in him as well.”

Would Solbakken be a good signing for Celtic?

Solbakken is a player that Celtic have been linked with in the past as well without the move ever transpiring till now.

His current deal with Bodo/Glimt is believed to be expiring at the end of this year though and as a result, he could be on his way out of the Norwegian club this summer. Some rumours have even suggested that he could be available for a transfer fee around €2 million, which would be a tremendous bargain for a player of his quality.

He has been a particular standout in Europe as well. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 6 goals and provided 2 assists in 11 appearances during the main phase of the UEFA Europa Conference League this season.

Postecoglou will know very well what he is capable of. Solbakken also found the back of the net three times against Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma.
