Another Celtic player looks set for Parkhead exit this summer

Celtic are not expected to undergo a lot of changes to their squad in the summer. All things considered, this team has done a tremendous job, especially when you think of the circumstances that surrounded the club at the start of the campaign. There was very little hope of them getting their hands on any silverware.

And after they lost three of their first six league games under the management of Ange Postecoglou, they were completely written off with many even predicting that they would not finish second.

The team has come a long way since those early struggles and are now just one point away from sealing a Premiership and League Cup double. Fans must not only be delighted but proud at the same time about the odds that they have had to overcome.

There are some players who have not had much of a part to play in Postecoglou’s side though and it looks like a summer exit might be on the cards for them. One such player could be Christopher Jullien.

Jullien could be on his way out of Celtic as he does not seem to be in Postecoglou’s plans right now

Jullien spent more than a year out with injury and before that, he was arguably Celtic’s best defender. It is safe to say that he has fallen significantly down the pecking order since then and Frank McAvennie believes he could be on his way out of Parkhead. As reported by Football Insider, the former Hoops star said:

“He’s played once this season so you do wonder if Ange has decided he isn’t good enough.

“To not even have had some sub appearances at the end of games, that speaks volumes for me.

“So, he’s one who could go this summer because he hasn’t played regular football for so long now.

“It’s probably better for everyone that he is moved on because I’m sure if Ange rated him then he would be playing.”

It is hard to disagree with McAvennie here. There was a lot of noise surrounding Jullien and his return earlier on in the campaign. Now he is back to fitness though and there is barely a pin drop about him in recent weeks and months.

The Frenchman has only come off the bench once this season and he cannot be satisfied with the time that he is getting at the moment. Thus, it would be no surprise if the club and the player part ways in the summer.
