RB Leipzig mention Celtic in tweet before facing Rangers

Celtic must be delighted with the campaign that they are having at the moment. The club have already won the Scottish League Cup and appear to be closing in on the Premiership as well, in what would be an unlikely double. 4 points from their remaining 3 matches should be enough to get them over the finish line in the title race, with games against Hearts, Dundee United and Motherwell remaining.

But on the other hand, the Rangers’ advance into the Europa League semi-finals is not something that would please Celtic fans. The Hoops themselves did not have a good campaign in Europe, being knocked out early in the Champions League qualifying rounds, the Europa League group stage and their first ever Europa Conference League tie.

Also, winning the Premiership would book their place in the Champions League group stage next stage. But at the same time, Celtic surely would not want the Rangers to qualify for the competition by winning the Europa League.

Thus, a lot of Celtic supporters are pinning their hopes on RB Leipzig, who hold a narrow 1-0 lead over the Rangers from the first leg in Germany and are now set to face them at Ibrox.

RB Leipzig mention Celtic in tweet before facing Rangers

RB Leipzig’s social media team also seem to have taken notice of the Celtic fans as the sent out a funny tweet before the game against the Rangers:

RB Leipzig have been one of the most in-form teams in the Bundesliga since the arrival of Domenico Tedesco as manager but could not make their dominance count in the first leg against the Rangers, getting only a 1-0 win.

That means that the tie is very much alive and Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side will be going into the game with a lot of belief, having already turned around a 1-0 deficit from the first leg in the previous round, against SC Braga. On the other hand, Celtic fans will be hoping that RB Leipzig can finish the job off and knock the Ibrox side out from the Europa League.
