Campbell hails ‘brilliant’ Furuhashi after Celtic dressing room reveal

Kevin Campbell has heaped praise on Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou after Kyogo Furuhashi’s insight into the dressing room at Parkhead.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker said Postecoglou has done “an excellent job” to harvest such “a great dressing room mentality” with some many new signings.

The Hoops maintained their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership after a 1-1 with rivals Rangers on Sunday.

Speaking to Celtic TV ahead of the match (26 April), Furuhashi revealed his teammates have kept him motivated during his injury lay-off.

The Japan international said he “really appreciates” the support the squad gave him while he was on the sidelines.

Furuhashi missed over three months of the season with a hamstring problem but returned to action last month.

When asked for his reaction to the forward’s comments, Campbell told Football Insider: “They clearly have a great dressing room mentality.

“The team spirit is there. When a player is injured he often feels left out.

“It sounds like the players at Celtic have the right attitude under Postecoglou. The manager has done an excellent job there. Kyogo embodies that. He is a brilliant player and character by the sounds of it.

“The dressing room culture is right at Celtic and that is so important if you want to achieve success.”

Furuhashi has been one of Celtic’s standout players in the 2021-22 campaign.

He has contributed 17 goals and five assists in 30 appearances across all competitions.
