Rangers fans sent into meltdown by Celtic hero’s tweet

After 90 minutes at Parkhead, nothing could separate Celtic and the Rangers with the game ending in a 1-1 draw. Jota had put the hosts ahead in the first half and if the Hoops had taken their chances, they could have put the game to bed in the first 45 minutes. As has been quite often the case this season though, Ange Postecoglou’s side appeared to run out of steam after the break.

It allowed the Rangers to grab an equaliser and they were the much better side in the last half an hour of the game, but ultimately, a draw was most probably a fair result with both chances having their fair share of chances to clinch a win.

The result does suit Celtic better than the Rangers, who now will have to get just four more points to put this title race beyond any doubt and realistically just three as they have a much superior goal difference.

One would think that Chris Sutton had his tongue firmly in his when he described it as a ‘comfortable draw’ for Celtic in his tweet after the game:

It is fair to say that not many Rangers fans were happy with the Celtic hero as they tweeted out:

Celtic will be much happier of the two sides after the Glasgow Derby draw

It is safe to say that Celtic will come out of this game in the driver’s seat when it comes to the Premiership title race.

This was the Rangers’ last chance to have a direct impact on the title race but now, they can only look towards the three remaining teams still to face Celtic – Hearts, Dundee United and Motherwell – and hope that they can all take points off of Postecoglou’s side.

Even draws in all three games could be enough for Celtic to clinch the title unless the Rangers win their remaining three games by huge margins. Of course, anything can happen in football and hopefully, the Hoops will get the four required points as soon as possible to put this title race to bed.
