Celtic handed transfer boost in race for £2 million star

Celtic have done an exceptional job rebuilding their squad over the past couple of transfer windows. With the kind of overhaul that took place at Parkhead over the summer, it would not have been much of a surprise if it took them a couple of years or so to even start competing for the Premiership title again. Instead, they are already back on top of the table and are the favourites to clinch the league from here on.

As things stand, Celtic have a 6 point lead over the Rangers with 4 more league games to go. And no matter how this campaign ends, it has to be considered a successful one. They cannot stop and rest on their laurels though, and must continue the rebuild in the upcoming summer transfer window.

One area that Celtic could do with more options in is left-back, which has been a problem for them since Kieran Tierney left in the summer of 2019 to join Arsenal.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Celtic are interested in Mohanad Jeahze and Hammarby won’t stand in his way if the Hoops table an acceptable offer. He is believed to be rated around £2 million.

Celtic linked with in-form Hammarby left-back

Jeahze is an Iraq international and has impressed a lot for Hammarby since joining the Swedish club. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has 12 assists for them in 55 appearances and has scored a couple of goals as well. That is exceptional for a left-back.

Greg Taylor has certainly improved since the arrival of Postecoglou as manager but left-back is still seen as a position where the club can improve further.

Thus, signing someone with the potential of Jeahze could prove to be a brilliant move on the part of Celtic. It remains to be seen if they can get it done or not.

Other clubs are expected to hold an interest in Jeahze as well, as he has been one of the key reasons behind Hammarby’s brilliant start to the season, as they sit atop the Allsvenskan table.
