Celtic are pushing to sign German youth international

Celtic have done a tremendous job of strengthening their squad since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager. In total, 17 players have arrived at Parkhead, over the previous two transfer windows. And it is safe to say that they have had a positive impact. Last season, the Hoops had finished 25 points behind the Rangers. This time around, they are leading the title race by six points with five more games to go. They have also won the Scottish League Cup as well.

Thus, this could be shaping up to be a tremendous season for Celtic, with a domestic treble still up for grabs. But no matter how this campaign ends, it has to be considered a success for the club.

But the improvement does not stop here though and the Hoops must already have their eyes on the future. Thus, do not be surprised to see Celtic make significant additions to the squad in the summer, especially if they qualify for the Champions League.

One player that they have been linked with extensively over the past month or so is Bayern Munich’s Christopher Scott and the rumours are now picking up pace. As reported GhanaWeb, Celtic are pushing to sign him in the summer. And as reported by GHANAsoccernet, the Hoops are very keen to signing him at the end of the season. The 19-year-old is German youth international of Ghanaian descent.

Would Scott be a good signing for Celtic?

Scott has been very highly rated in Germany for a long time. His numbers at the youth level, for both Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen, have been exceptional.

He has made a couple senior appearances for Bayern Munich as well but is yet to feature since the arrival of Julian Nagelsmann as manager.

Scott’s current deal with Bayern Munich runs out in the summer, and although the Bundesliga giants have the option to extend it by a year, they are believed to be open to letting him leave after taking up that option.

Coming through the youth ranks at Bayer Leverkusen, Scott’s style of play has been compared to Kai Havertz in the past and it is not hard to understand why. The attacking midfielder has a solid dribbling ability, can carry the ball up the pitch, can pop up with a goal and create chances as well. Thus, if Celtic are able to sign him, he could be a very good fit in Postecoglou’s system.
