Leigh Griffiths arrived at Celtic in 2014 from Wolves and over the next eight years, he went on to have one of the most eventful careers in Scottish football of all time. On top of his game, the striker was the best player in the country without a shadow of a doubt. But then, there were arguably more lows than highs, both on and off the pitch for him.

Ultimately, his Celtic career came to an end earlier this season and he has joined Falkirk since then. And it is hard to believe that Griffiths is still just 31 years of age.

One cannot help but feel that he fell far short from what he could have achieved in football and his peak was incredible but unfortunately, very short. Controversy followed him off the pitch continuously for the last several years of his Celtic career.

Yet, Griffiths does not have anything negative to say about Ange Postecoglou, even though it was under his management that his time at Celtic finally came to an end. As reported by the Daily Record, the striker said:

“I was flung back into training and the new manager was absolutely unbelievable with me – I don’t have a bad word to say about Ange. I don’t have a bad word to say about anyone at Celtic.

“Ange had come in and it was his job to get the team up and running and he’s then hit with this bombshell.”

It is easy to forget by now but Griffiths had actually been handed a one year extension by Celtic following Postecoglou’s arrival as manager in the summer.

Odsonne Edouard was set to leave at that point of time and the club had no other reliable goalscorers in their ranks. Thus, there were hopes that the Scottish striker could rediscover his best and make an impact for Celtic.

Unfortunately, things did not go as hoped. Celtic have been able to make a couple of tremendous signings up top since then though, who have come in and found the back of the net consistently when they have been on the pitch. On the other hand, Griffiths continues to struggle for his best form, even while playing for Falkirk in the third tier of Scottish football.
