Celtic look set for negotiations over summer transfer exit

This summer was one of change for Celtic. Several key players like Scott Brown, Kristoffer Ajer, Odsonne Edouard, Ryan Christie and others departed Parkhead on a permanent basis. On the other hand, they signed twelve players, ten on a permanent basis and two on loan. Thus, it is safe to say that this is a very different side to the one which finished 25 points behind the Rangers last season.

Fortunately for Celtic, that has been clearly visible in the performances on the pitch as well. The club currently sit atop the Premiership table, leading by six points. They have already won the Scottish League Cup and are in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup, where they will face the Rangers at Hampden Park next weekend.

Yet, it is safe to say that this current Celtic squad is far from perfect, and there are expected to be changes this summer as well.

While arrivals are expected, there could be quite a few who head in the opposite direction as well. One player who seems to be catching attention away on loan is Osaze Urhoghide.

Is Urhoghide set to leave Celtic in the summer for KV Oostende?

As reported by the Daily Record, KV Oostende chief Gauthier Ganaye said about Urhoghide:

“Urhoghide has proved to be an excellent addition, but the problem is he is still too expensive for us.

“But I hope we can work out a solution with Celtic, then I would be very happy because we really want to keep Osaze.”

Thus, it looks like KV Oostende will look to negotiate with Celtic over the transfer fee of Urhoghide. The Belgian club are believed to have an option to buy included in the loan deal and they are no strangers to signing players from the Hoops, having done so with Jack Hendry last summer.

Urhoghide was officially the first signing of the Ange Postecoglou era but he only made one appearance for the club, against Real Betis in the Europa League, before he left for KV Oostende on loan. Let’s see if that move ends up becoming permanent.
