The rumours linking Cameron Carter-Vickers with a permanent move to Celtic are starting to pick up pace quickly. The United States international was brought in on a season-long loan from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer and has been a superhit at Parkhead. Thus, there have been calls from the fans to sign him on a permanent basis and the Hoops do have an option to buy included in the deal.

It is believed that it will take a £6 million transfer fee to sign Carter-Vickers from Tottenham Hotspur although with add-ons, that could potentially rise up to £10 million. That would make him the most expensive signing in the history of Celtic.

On top of that, the centre-back is being linked with the likes of Leicester City, Wolves and Burnley as well.

Former Rangers full-back, Richard Foster, believes that Carter-Vickers should choose a move to Celtic over those Premier League clubs though. As reported by Leicestershire Live, he said on the PLZ Soccer – The Football Show:

“Those teams – Leicester, Burnley and Wolves – I personally don’t get why he’d leave Celtic to go and play at those clubs.

“Stay at Celtic, win championships, play in the Champions League. I just think go and play in the Champions League and do well, and you’ll get a better move than a Wolves or Burnley.”

Carter-Vickers told to pick Celtic over Leicester City, Burnley or Wolves

Now, one has to admit that Leicester City have been a solid team since Brendan Rodgers arrived as their manager, incidentally from Celtic. They won the FA Cup last season and the Community Shield this time around, along with back-to-back fifth place finishes in the Premier League.

Things have not gone Leicester City’s way this season though as they find themselves sitting at tenth in the Premier League table.

Wolves have been a decent Premier League side for the past couple of years. On the other hand, Burnley are in the middle of a relegation battle at the moment.

On the other hand, if Celtic are able to win the Premiership title this season, they will qualify for next season’s Champions League main stage. Also, Carter-Vickers is already settled at Parkhead and knows exactly where he fits into the first-team picture.
