Celtic player confirmed to be leaving as pictures emerge

Incomings and outgoings have been a common occurrence at Celtic over the past year or so. The club have undergone a massive overhaul, as it was clear that one of their most successful cycles had come to an end. Thus, the club saw key first-team players like Odsonne Edouard, Ryan Christie and Kristoffer Ajer leave. At the same time, there were several who arrived as well, to replace them.

While all important players to the club, there was an understanding that it was time to part ways. On the other hand, one player that Celtic must have been hoping to hold onto for much longer is Ben Doak.

Doak has come through the youth ranks at Celtic and has made a couple of senior appearances for the club as well, including one against the Rangers in the previous Glasgow Derby.

But, as reported by The Athletic, Liverpool have secured the signing of Doak for a compensation fee of around £600,000. Pictures have been doing rounds on social media of him holding The Reds’ jersey as well.

Doak set to leave Celtic for Liverpool

Doak has admitted to have been a Celtic fan all his life in the past. But it appears that a move to Liverpool was too good of an offer for the youngster to turn down.

It is believed that Jurgen Klopp’s track record of bringing through youngsters was key in his decision to make the move to Anfield, and he had more lucrative offers on the table from other clubs.

For Celtic, this is a major blow without any doubt, as Doak is one of the brightest young players that the club have had in a while.

He had already gotten a taste of first-team football at Parkhead and has also been shining for the Scotland under-17 side recently.
