Celtic player confirms he has signed contract in massive boost

Celtic have had a tough time keeping hold of their youngsters in recent years. Several of them have departed Parkhead in order to join the likes of Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Leeds United and others. It goes without saying that that is something that the Hoops need to find a way to stop from happening. Bringing through youth is a huge part of the identity of the club.

The latest Celtic youngster, who seems to be on his way out of the club is Ben Doak. It looks like he is on the verge of joining Liverpool, despite being handed a couple of senior appearances by the Hoops already.

While Doak’s future remains up in the air, another Celtic youngster, Josh Dede, who has also been linked with Premier League clubs in recent times, has committed his future to the Hoops.

Dede confirmed on Instagram that he has signed his first professional contract with Celtic. It goes without saying that this is a massive boost for the Hoops.

Celtic handed massive boost as youngster signs first professional contract

One of the things on top of Celtic’s wishlist right now, has to be keeping hold of some of the club’s most talented youngsters.

And while their chances of doing that with Doak are starting to look slim, it is great to see that players like Dede, have decided to stay at Parkhead.

It must be admitted that Celtic’s recent record of bringing through youngsters is not great. But at the same time, Ange Postecoglou has spoken about how he wants to give a chance to the club’s youth.

Doak is a brilliant example of that himself. He has already made a couple of senior appearances under the management of Postecoglou, even though he is still just 16 years of age, as it is clear that the manager is open to handing out opportunities.
