With the sun shining over Paradise, Celtic played almost the perfect game against Ross County. They were 3-0 up before half-time and could take their foot off the gas a bit in the second half, even though they did add another to the tally and it ultimately ended 4-0 in favour of Ange Postecoglou’s side, who went 6 points clear at the top, albeit having played a game more than the Rangers.

It was not all positive news for Celtic coming out of the game though, as Tom Rogic picked up an injury and was forced off the pitch in the first half itself.

It was a poor challenge from Kayne Ramsay and the Ross County player was shown a red card immediately. Many would claim though that he should have already been booked before that and most would agree that he deserved to be sent off.

Ross County manager, Malky Mackay, seems to have a different view on the matter though and believes that the Celtic fans’ reaction played a part in Ramsay being sent off. As reported by The Scotsman, he said:

“It’s not something he meant to do and he clearly got the ball and played it away with that touch. At that point the crowd are shouting the referee gives it. Could it have been a yellow? Yeah, maybe. I asked the referee if he was sure. He said the two feet were up off the ground. It’s one of those things, we get on with it.”

To be very honest, it looked like a pretty straightforward decision for the referee. Ramsay should have already been booked before the incident.

And it resulted in Rogic being injured, and he had to be substituted off. At this point of time, we can only hope that it is not a serious injury and he will be back available soon.

The Australian has been a very important part of this Celtic team ever since Postecoglou arrived as manager and when they look at their best, he very often has a hand in it.

Fortunately for Celtic, they did sign Matt O’Riley in January and he has been competing for a first-team spot with Rogic ever since arriving. Thus, the Hoops do have a like-for-like replacement in their ranks.
