Celtic manager’s incredible response to Rangers vs Dundee question

It looks like the title race between Celtic and the Rangers is going to go right down to the wire and this is the tightest that it has been in a decade, if not more. The Hoops had the advantage this week of playing before their Glasgow rivals, and their 4-0 win vs Ross County will surely put some pressure on Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side to get a result when they travel to Dens Park to face Dundee FC.

Dundee are firmly at the bottom of the Premiership table and have not won a league game in a while. Thus, it is safe to say that the Rangers are heavy favourites to get all three points. But even then, the gap will remain three points in favour of Celtic.

A number of Celtic fans are expected to have their eyes on how things turn out at Dens Park tomorrow. It does not look like the same can be said about Ange Postecoglou though.

The manager has always maintained that he is only focusing on Celtic and when asked if he was going to watch the Rangers game, as reported by The Scotsman, Postecoglou said:

“My Sundays are dictated by my wife and kids, mate.

“If Sing 2’s on the TV, or something, then I’ll have to fight for the remote control. It’s not that… look, I get why people are focusing on that and I get why the question’s getting asked and maybe I should just say ‘yes’. In that way people will stop asking it [but] I don’t worry about things I can’t control.”

That attitude has certainly helped Celtic through the course of the season, as they have racked up one win after the other in recent times.

The job is not done though. Not even close. There are still seven league games to go after this and Celtic cannot afford to slip up. There is a Champions League spot up for grabs.

The 4-0 win over Ross County was a boost in that regard as well, as it helped improve the Hoops’ goal difference which now stands at +51. One cannot count out the Rangers from getting a big win of their own against Dundee. No other team has conceded more goals than them in the Premiership this season.
