Celtic star returns to full training in massive boost

Celtic’s biggest problem this season has without doubt been the series of injuries that they have had to deal with. It has kept a number of their key players out of action for considerable lengths of time and it is amazing how well the club have done, winning the Scottish League Cup and leading the Premiership title race, when you consider how limited they have been at times.

The additions of five players in January to their squad has certainly helped with this issue but it is safe to say that they still have their fair share of problems.

One of them has been the fitness statuses of David Turnbull and Kyogo Furuhashi, both of whom have been out of action since December, having picked up long-term injuries within the space of a week.

There is some good news on this front though. As reported by The Scotsman, Turnbull has returned to full training this week. The Scottish midfielder had been injured in the Scottish League Cup final against Hibernian.

Turnbull returns to full training in massive boost for Celtic

It goes without saying that this is a massive boost for Ange Postecoglou and his side. Turnbull had been the most active player in the team before he had picked up the injury in December.

When he returns, there is expected to be a lot more competition for his place in the starting XI though as Celtic added the likes of Reo Hatate and Matt O’Riley to their squad in the January transfer window.

But Turnbull is good enough to win back his place in the team if he is able to perform to the best of his abilities, which will be difficult though when you consider how long he has been out of action for. Expect to see his best next season.
