Celtic star not in Ange Postecoglou’s plans and can leave

Celtic have undergone quite a transformation since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou in the summer. And that was to be expected considering the squad overhaul that has taken place over the course of the past two transfer windows. Several key players departed Parkhead in the summer, while twelve arrived, ten on a permanent basis and two on loan. Five more were brought in in January.

Thus, Postecoglou as well as the players, deserve a lot of credit for how well they have done till now. Celtic have already won the Scottish League Cup this season, and sit at the top of the Premiership table, three points ahead of the Rangers with nine games left to be played.

This squad is far from perfect though and needs a bit more tweaking. While that involves bringing more players in, it also means some will leave.

As reported by Football Insider, Celtic will tell Albian Ajeti that he is free to find a new club in the summer. The Swiss striker does not figure in Postecoglou’s plans going forward and the Hoops will listen to offers for him in the upcoming window.

Celtic ready to let Ajeti leave in the summer

It looks like Ajeti’s time at Celtic is set to come to an end soon. And that should not come as a huge surprise.

Ajeti was the big signing of the summer of 2020 and he made a bright start to life at Parkhead. But since then, he has struggled to rediscover that early form and at this point of time, he is pretty much out of the first-team picture.

He recently returned from injury, after spending months out on the sidelines, but is not expected to get a lot of playing time. And next summer, it is very possible that the former West Ham United player could depart Parkhead.
