Celtic fans must be worried heading into the away game against Livingston. On one hand, the Hoops’ performances in recent weeks have been a cause for worry and the last time Ange Postecoglou’s side looked impressive was against Aberdeen. On the other hand, their record against The Lions, especially away, is nothing to write home about. This could very well be one of their toughest tests of the season.
The previous two games against Livingston this season have not gone Celtic’s way. They lost the away fixture 1-0 and could only manage a goalless draw at home.
And on top of everything else, Livingston are a team in great form and currently sit at fourth in the Premiership table. Thus, it is safe to say that David Martindale must be confident of his side’s chances heading into the game against Celtic.
But at the same time, the manager appears to recognise that Celtic have made a lot of improvement under the management of Postecoglou. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, Martindale told Livingston’s official Twitter:
“I genuinely, I’m not looking for an out here – I genuinely think it’s a different Celtic team.
“I do, I honestly believe Ange is playing some of the best football I’ve seen a Celtic team play.
“I think we’re unbeaten here against Celtic, but I think it’s going to be a really, really difficult game. I think Ange’s recruitment has been bang on. The players he’s got – I’m on record before speaking about it. Some of the players they’ve got are absolutely fantastic.
“I think Ange has done a wonderful job, I think it’s going to be an extremely difficult game.”
Celtic face a very difficult game away at Livingston
It is safe to say that Celtic have improve a lot since the arrival of Postecoglou as manager. While the recent displays might not have been a cause for lot of optimism, once you step back a bit, you can see how far this team has come under the manager in such a short span of time.
While Celtic are favourites in most domestic matches that play, it is safe to say that this is going top be a very close contest for the Hoops.
Livingston is a team that they have struggled against a lot in recent times, especially away from home. But with the title race heating up and just three points between the two Glasgow giants, the club’s fans will be hoping that they are able to get a win here this time around for a change.
