Ange Postecoglou’s fantastic claim about long-term Celtic future

It is safe to say that it has not taken long for Ange Postecoglou to become a fan favourite at Celtic. And it is very easy to forget that his appointment had initially been met with disappointment from the supporters. Since then, the club have made tremendous strides in the right direction though. They have already won the Scottish League Cup this season and are sitting at the top of the Premiership table, three points ahead of the Rangers.

That is even more incredible when you consider the fact that Celtic had finished trophyless and a massive 25 points behind the Rangers, just last season.

Thus, Postecoglou deserves a lot of credit for the job that he has done at Parkhead. And many fans will be hoping that he remains at Celtic for the foreseeable future.

As reported by 67 Hail Hail, he was recently asked by 4 Tims and a Podcast, about whether he would be open to staying at Celtic for the next four or five years, and Postecoglou replied:

“Being manager of this football club fulfils everything that I’ve ever wanted as a manager because I’m in charge of a massive football club, I get the opportunity to work at the highest level domestically and in Europe.

“I’m at a club where people are passionate about the same things I’m passionate about. But as a manager you learn to understand that sometimes your destiny’s not in your own hands. You always understand that at some point it’ll all come to an end, but I’m loving every minute of it and I hope it continues for a long time.”

Postecoglou opens up about long-term Celtic future

It is safe to say that this was the type of reply that you would expect from a manager. Of course, he did not commit to anything and you would not expect him to, considering how quickly things can change in football. It was pretty clear though that the manager was enjoying his time at Celtic.

Now, it remains to be seen how things turn out for Celtic and Postecoglou this season. While they might be top of the Premiership right now, there are still 10 more league games to be played and anything can happen.

But no matter how it ends, there is no denying the fact that Postecoglou has done a fantastic job since coming in and deserves a lot of credit for where the club stand right now.
