It is safe to say that Celtic have a mountain to climb when they take on Bodo/Glimt in the second leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League tie, away in Norway. The first leg in Glasgow ended 3-1 in favour of the Norwegian champions, as they were able to get the better of Ange Postecoglou’s side. And while the tie is far from over, things are not looking good for the Hoops.
Bodo/Glimt are a very difficult team to beat in their own backyard. Earlier in the season, Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma suffered a 6-1 defeat here. Thus, it goes without saying that it is quite an ask to expect Celtic to get a win here.
And as if they did not already have enough on their plate, weather conditions have made matters more difficult for the Scottish giants.
As reported by NRK (via Daily Record), the conditions are expected to be very difficult on Wednesday, when the visiting team would normally train on the host pitch. High winds, sleet showers are expected as well as potential thunderstorms. As a result, Celtic have decided to forego their session on the artificial turf.
Celtic forced to make controversial Bodo/Glimt decision
Dropping training on the host pitch is something that AS Roma had done earlier on in the season and it is safe to say that things did not go too well for them.
As a result, Celtic will surely be hoping to avoid the same fate when they finally take to Aspmyra Stadion to face Bodo/Glimt in the second leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League tie.
As if the odds were not already stacked up against Celtic, this has made things more difficult.
