Celtic player in talks over loan exit to Russian club

Celtic enjoyed a successful January transfer window in terms of incomings, with Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate, Yosuke Ideguchi, Matt O’Riley and Johnny Kenny arriving at the club. Three out of those five have hit the ground running at Parkhead and it looks like the Hoops have pulled a few more masterstrokes under the management of Ange Postecoglou. On the other hand, they were not nearly as successful when it comes to outgoings.

While a few youngsters did get loan moves away from Celtic, the club were unable to move on some of the more senior players who were linked with exits last month.

Players such as Vasilis Barkas, Albian Ajeti, Boli Bolingoli, Ismaila Soro, and a few others come to mind immediately. Now though, it looks like one of them could still be on his way out of the club, on a temporary basis.

As tweeted out Pete O’Rourke, Bolingoli is in talks over a loan move to Russian Premier League side FC Ufa:

Bolingoli is still in talks with Russian club over Celtic loan exit

The Russia transfer window is still open for a few more days and as a result, it will be interesting to see if Bolingoli ends up getting his move or not.

Signed from Rapid Vienna in the summer of 2019, he was originally brought in to replace Kieran Tierney in the team, who left Celtic for Arsenal in a record £25 million transfer.

It is safe to say that things have not gone as planned since then. Bolingoli struggled through his first season at Celtic and was sent out on loan to Istanbul Basaksehir last season. He has made a few appearances for the club under the management of Postecoglou this season but nothing significant. Now, it remains to be seen what the future holds for the Belgian left-back.
