Celtic legend Scott Brown faces major problem at Aberdeen

Scott Brown completed a surprise Celtic exit last summer and joined Aberdeen in a player-coach role. He had spent almost a decade-and-a-half at Parkhead and the legendary captain’s arms must have been tired lifting trophies over the course of that time. But he decided to head to Pittodrie Stadium as it felt like he was slowly ready to transition into coaching.

Things have not quite gone Aberdeen’s way this season though and they have struggled throughout the course of the campaign.

So much so that the club have already shown Stephen Glass, who had brought in Brown in a player-coach role, the exit door after Aberdeen were knocked out of the Scottish Cup by Motherwell.

Aberdeen confirmed the news of Glass’ departure on their official website earlier. And as a result, it goes without saying that Brown’s future, especially his coaching one, seems uncertain at this point of time.

Celtic legend’s coaching future seems uncertain right now

It is safe to say that whatever coaching path that Brown must have had in his mind when arriving at Aberdeen last summer is pretty much out of the window now following Glass’ exit.

As reported by the Daily Record, a caretaker manager looks set to be appointed till the end of the season.

It will be interesting to see what kind of a role the caretaker manager has in mind for Brown. Of course, one cannot completely rule out the possibility of Broony being handed the role either. But considering his lack of experience in terms of coaching and the position that Aberdeen find themselves in, that does feel unlikely.

It remains to be seen how things work out for Aberdeen and the former Celtic captain over the coming days and weeks. At this point of time, they sit at 9th in the Premiership table.
