Celtic: 3 players who need to step up for the Hoops

Celtic are the in form team in Scottish football right now. They have been very impressive in recent times. Coming out of the winter, the Rangers had a 6-point lead over Ange Postecoglou’s side but now find themselves chasing the Hoops. As a result, the club should be commended for the turnaround that they have been able to complete, after a disappointing 2020/21 campaign.

Now though, it is about finishing the season strong, with 12 league games left and hopefully win back the Premiership title from the Rangers come the end of the season.

While a lot of Celtic players have done a tremendous job this season, there have also been those who have underwhelmed and need to step their game up.

Can they do that? It will be interesting to see, as it looks like the Premiership season is headed right down to the wire.

For a while, it had looked like Scales was set to compete with Greg Taylor for the starting spot at left-back, after the Shamrock Rovers star had put in some impressive displays.

But right now, it looks like Taylor has moved significantly ahead of the summer signing in the pecking order and has been solid to be very honest.

On the other hand, Scales has found playing time hard to come by once again although, one would expect him to start against Raith Rovers in the upcoming Scottish Cup game. And if that indeed happens, he will need to take the chance with both hands and try to make an impression on Postecoglou. Let’s see how things turn out.
