What Aaron Ramsey to Rangers means for Celtic’s title hopes

With the Rangers dropping a couple of points against Ross County by conceding in the 6th minute of stoppage time and Celtic pulling off a win against Dundee United in the 90th minute through Liel Abada, it had looked like all the momentum was on the Hoops’ side heading into the Glasgow Derby at Parkhead. That situation might have changed quite a bit though with the events of the transfer deadline day.

When waking up this morning, not many people would have expected Ramsey to be a Rangers player by the end of the day. But that is exactly what has happened.

The Ibrox side had already pulled off an impressive move a few days earlier by signing Amad from Manchester United on loan and now, they have brought in Ramsey from Juventus on a temporary basis.

Those are big name acquisitions for sure. But what effect will they end up having on Celtic’s Premiership title hopes this season?

There is no hiding from the fact that on top of his game, Ramsey was a brilliant player and if he can rediscover that kind of form, he could end up making a significant impact on the Scottish game.

If that happens, then this move would potentially prove to be a game changer for the Rangers, who have struggled quite a bit in recent times.

At the very least, it does give Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side a boost heading into the Glasgow Derby against an in-form Celtic side.

That does not mean that it is all doom and gloom for Celtic either, and they can take quite a few positives from this Ramsey move as well. And ultimately, it could prove to be a potential boost for their Premiership title hopes.
