Celtic Predicted XI vs Alloa Athletic: Multiple changes

Celtic returned from the winter break in brilliant fashion with a 2-0 win over Hibernian in a game that they dominated for the most part and looked comfortable throughout. Daizen Maeda and Josip Juranovic found their names on the scoresheet on the occasion. On the other hand, the Rangers ended up dropping a couple of points against Aberdeen, reducing the gap to just four points between the two Glasgow sides.

With three more Glasgow Derbies yet to be played this season, Celtic must be confident of their chances of overturning that lead over the coming weeks and months.

The Hoops’ next game is a very different kind of assignment though as they will be kicking their Scottish Cup campaign off with a fourth round tie away against Alloa Athletic.

Having already one knockout competition this season in the form of the Scottish League Cup, Ange Postecoglou’s side must definitely be eager to add to that tally as soon as possible. But one would not expect them to name the strongest XI either, against League One opposition and more important matches coming up.

Here’s how we think Ange Postecoglou could line Celtic up when they take on Alloa Athletic in the four round of the Scottish Cup:

Joe Hart has been the regular between the posts for Celtic this season since arriving in the summer and for good reason. The English goalkeeper has been absolutely superb both with his performances and his leadership abilities.

This game might be a good opportunity to give the club’s number two, Scott Bain, to get some playing time under his belt.

It is believed that he has managed to impress Postecoglou in training since the manager’s arrival and has been handed a contract extension recently as well.
