Celtic-linked Championship star comments on transfer rumours

Celtic have been linked with a wide number of players in recent times and to be fair, they have made quite a few additions to their squad in the January transfer window as well. Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi have arrived, and are expected to make an immediate impact on the first-team picture at Parkhead. On the other hand, 18-year-old Johnny Kenny is one to watch out for in the future, having already impressed for Sligo Rovers.

Recently, the club were also believed to be interested in a move for Riley McGree but it did not end up transpiring and he ended up joining Middlesbrough instead, in what was the club’s first and only transfer blow of the current window till now.

Another player that Celtic have been linked with an interest in is Hamilton Academical’s Jamie Hamilton. The 19-year-old has had a rapid rise through the ranks and already has plenty of experience under his belt.

Celtic are not the only club that he has been linked with, but it looks like he is not looking too much into the rumours and is focussed on Hamilton Academical at the moment. As reported by the Daily Record, Hamilton said:

“Personally, I don’t look into a lot of it as I play for Hamilton.

“I’m at Hamilton right now so I am not looking too much into anything else.

“Hamilton is all that I am focusing on. It doesn’t really bother me too much as I don’t read a lot of it.”

Hamilton is not focussing on the Celtic and Liverpool transfer rumours

Hamilton is a centre-back and that is an area that the Hoops could definitely do with more options in moving forward.

Cameron Carter-Vickers looks like the club’s best centre-back at the moment but he is only on loan from Tottenham Hotspur as of now. On the other hand, Carl Starfelt’s performances have taken a dip in recent weeks and raised concerns amongst the fans about whether he is good enough to be the regular starter for Celtic.

Stephen Welsh is still not ready for a consistent spot in the starting XI yet and Christopher Jullien is just closing in on a return from a long-term injury, which saw him miss for more than a year of action.
