Celtic: 3 players to watch out for against Hibernian

The winter break finally comes to an end when Celtic will take on Hibernian at Parkhead on Monday. It is a huge game for both sides. On one hand, Ange Postecoglou’s team are hoping to put up a title challenge in the second half of the season and overturn the six-point lead that the Rangers have in the league right now. On the other hand, this will be a good test for Shaun Maloney to judge where the Hibs are at right now.

Things could get very interesting for Celtic though because of the fact that they have made quite a few new signings this month, in the form of Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate, Yosuke Ideguchi and Johnny Kenny.

On the other hand, they could be without both of their standout players this season, Kyogo and Jota, when they face Hibernian.

Thus, this could be a great chance for some players to step up to the plate, make their Celtic debuts or their returns from injury.

Starfelt has had an up and down time at Celtic ever since arriving in the summer. He has had spells were he has looked great and a transfer masterstroke.

But at other times, he has struggled badly and looked like a player not up to the mark to be a regular starter for Celtic.

The Hoops have decided not to make a move for another centre-back in this January transfer window, with Christopher Jullien also closing in on his return from injury.

Before the winter break, Starfelt was struggling badly for form and hopefully, he will look much better in the second half of the campaign.
