English club are interested in struggling Celtic player

The early portion of Celtic’s January transfer window has been marked by arrivals with the club signing players like Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate, Yosuke Ideguchi and Johnny Kenny, while they are also believed to be closing in on a move for Riley McGree. But loan moves away for players struggling for minutes could be equally important for the Hoops moving forward.

Celtic have already sent Liam Shaw out on loan to Motherwell, in what could prove to be a good move for the former Sheffield Wednesday star’s development. On the other hand, Ewan Henderson has joined Hibernian on an initial loan, although that will be made permanent in the summer.

Amidst all this another Celtic player who has been linked with a Parkhead exit is Osaze Urhoghide, who also arrived from Sheffield Wednesday in the summer.

Urhoghide was actually the first signing of the Ange Postecoglou era at Parkhead but he has not gotten enough playing time this season. And while it might be too early to let him leave on a permanent basis, a loan spell away from Celtic could make a lot of sense for him.

English club are interested in taking the Celtic defender on loan

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Urhoghide is wanted by Morecambe, currently playing in League One. But it is believed that Postecoglou would prefer the youngster to join another Premiership side.

At 21 years of age, there is plenty of time for Urhoghide to develop and improve his game. And thus, a loan spell could be perfect for him at this stage of his career.

He has already shown glimpses of his ability for Celtic, putting in an excellent performance against Real Betis in the Europa League, which was also his debut for the club. And it is safe to say that the defender’s potential is very high.
