Celtic have one more game left, against St Johnstone, before the winter break starts. The decision was recently made to bring it forward amid new crowd restriction. As a result, we will go into it after the Boxing Day fixtures and while the situation is far from ideal and unfortunate, it does provide some positives to Ange Postecoglou’s side. The biggest of them is the fact that it allows for some of the injured players to return to fitness.
It is pretty clear that the club’s biggest weakness right now is their lack of depth and the number of injuries that they have suffered recently is a direct result of that.
There are several players who have had to play constant football and it has ended up in them picking up problems, especially hamstring injury.
With the winter break starting in a few days, Celtic will surely be hoping to have most of them back in action by the January 17 arrives. Also, it must be pointed out that Kyogo and Joe Hart are not included in the list as they could possible even end up featuring against St Johnstone.
Celtic players who could return after the winter break
Here are the injured Celtic players who could return to action when the winter break comes to an end, in what would be a massive boost for the Hoops:
Jota has arguably been Celtic’s best player this season along with Jota. Thus, his injury was surely a massive blow for the club.
He picked up a hamstring injury in the first game of December against Hearts and has been out of action ever since. And it is safe to say that they have not looked the same going forward from that point onwards.
As a result, it goes without saying that the club would be hoping to have him back in action as soon as possible. He was expected to return after the winter break and that should remain the case unless there is a setback somewhere along the line.
