Kyogo Furuhashi has come in and established himself as one of the most important players at Celtic within a short span of time. The Japanese star has been absolutely superb since his arrival from Vissel Kobe and is proving to be a transfer masterstroke on the part of Ange Postecoglou’s side. So much so that it must have given them enough encouragement to go after more J1 League players in the future.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Kyogo has scored 14 goals and provided 5 assists in 24 appearances for Celtic this season.

But like almost every great player, Kyogo does not seem to be satisfied with his own performances till now and has already picked out areas of his game that he needs to improve.

As reported by Celtic’s official website, he said in a recent interview:

“I have been missing opportunities a lot, I want to score goals to support the team. I also want to be more aggressive when it comes to defending to support the players at the back.”

It is safe to say that most Celtic fans are delighted with the start that Kyogo has made to life at Parkhead. He has been one of the club’s standout players this season till now.

Both his goalscoring and defensive work rate have been but it looks like he believes he can be even better. That is an exciting thought and a brilliant attitude to have on the part of the player.

And the club’s biggest worry surrounding him right now will be his injury status. Kyogo recently picked up an injury in the Europa League game against Real Betis and was forced off the pitch. It is safe to say that the injury could not have come at a worse time, with the Scottish League Cup final against Hibernian not far away.

There have been some suggestions that he could end up being fit for the match but it is not certain and the Japanese star is in a race against time right now.
