Kyogo Furuhashi has been an absolute superstar ever since arriving at Celtic. When the club signed him, there were a lot of questions about whether he could get it done in Scottish football or not. There are no more doubts now though. The Japanese star has been one of the best players in Scotland since joining the Hoops in the summer and is an integral part of Ange Postecoglou’s team.
According to stats from Transfermarkt, Kyogo has scored 14 goals and provided 5 assists in 24 appearances for Celtic till now. Those are exceptional numbers, especially considering the fact that he is not an out and out striker.
But like any good player, Kyogo does not seem to be satisfied with his performances till now and appears to be aiming to get even better moving forward.
Speaking in an interview with Celtic TV and as reported by Football Scotland, Kyogo said:
“I am enjoying playing here.
“It’s nice to know I am accepted a little, but at the same time, I am not satisfied with my play yet.
“I want to play better and contribute towards bringing more joy to fans.
“I like Glasgow and feel it’s easy to live here.
“I think I can call it my second home now.”

It is safe to say that Kyogo has already been brilliant for Celtic. He has been one of the club’s talismans this season and is already a fan favourite.
But like every player, there are areas where he could improve in. His finishing is certainly one of them.
Kyogo’s movement is incredible and he finds himself in great positions very often. But sometimes, he fails to take his chances. If he can improve on that a bit more, he can be an even better player for the Hoops.
Of course, that could be a direct result of the amount of football that he has had to play ever since arriving at Celtic. Fatigue could have certainly played its part in his performances taking a slight dip recently.
The biggest worry for Celtic right now is Kyogo’s injury status as he was recently forced off the pitch in the game against Real Betis. And with the Scottish League Cup final coming up, Ange Postecoglou will surely be hoping that he can get fit in time to feature in the big game at Hampden Park.
