Ange Postecoglou gives exciting Celtic transfer teaser

This January transfer window promises to be a big one for Celtic. The Hoops have done very well since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou. And the manager deserves a lot of credit for that, as it must be said that he was not dealt the best cards when coming in. He has certainly made the best of the situation though, as the Hoops sit at second in the Scottish Premiership table and are also in the Scottish League Cup against Hibernian, set to be played later this month.

But even after all this, there is no denying the fact that Celtic need to strengthen quite a bit. There are several positions in the squad where they have very little depth. And on top of that, they are struggling with injuries as well.

Thus, it looks like they might bring in a few players in January. Quite a few of them have been from the J1 League. But that might not be the only Asian league that the Hoops are looking at.

As reported by the Daily Record, Postecoglou sounded confident ahead of the winter transfer window:

“I know people get excited about names and I’ve probably been linked with the whole of the J-League.

“There’s also the Korean league that is decent, if you want to go fishing there. There will be plenty of names.

“From my perspective, we know what we need – and I’m fairly confident we‘ll get them in and get them in early.”

This January could be very important for Celtic

Celtic have already shown that they are capable of putting up a title challenge. But with the squad that they have right now, the push might not be sustainable.

Just in December, we have already seen Anthony Ralston, Jota, Stephen Welsh and James Forrest all pick up injuries, and we are not even past the first week of the month.

This leaves Postecoglou with very few options to pick his team from and with the games coming thick and fast, that is a massive worry to say the least.

Let’s see how the club are able to navigate through the busy December fixture list but January is going to be very vital for sure.
