Celtic make major Reo Hatate transfer breakthrough

Celtic are headed for an exciting January transfer window. The club have done quite well since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou in the summer but it is undeniable that the squad is not deep right now and the Hoops could find themselves in trouble if a few of their key players end up picking injuries. Thus, they should definitely try to strengthen in several positions at the start of next year.

Kyogo has been a massive success since joining Celtic in the summer and is already looking like one of the best players in Scottish football. Of course, that must have given them considerable encouragement to sign more players from the J1 League in the future.

One player that they have been linked with recently is Kawasaki Frontale’s Reo Hatate. The versatile Japanese star has played a big part in back-to-back J1 League winning campaigns, and now, it appears he could be looking for a move away.

As reported by the Daily Record, Hatate has decided that he wants to join Kyogo in Glasgow and Celtic appear to be pushing for a deal to go through quickly as well.

Hatate to Celtic is looking like a real possibility

Hatate has been one of the standout players in Japan for a while now and it is not hard to see why Celtic might want to sign him. He also just turned 24 years of age and would expected to get better moving forward.

The fact that he has played for the back-to-back J1 League champions in multiple positions just shows the kind of versatility that he has.

Hatate’s current deal with Kawasaki Frontale is believed to be run out at the end of January. Celtic are believed to be confident though that the J1 League side won’t stand in his way of making an early move to Scotland.
