Celtic teammate gives clear answer about Jota staying

One of the biggest questions surrounding Celtic right now is about Jota and whether he will remain at the club beyond this season. The Portuguese winger is currently on loan at Parkhead till the end of the season. The Hoops do have an option to buy included in the loan deal though which is believed to be a transfer fee around £6.5 million. But ultimately, it might come down to the youngster and what he wants to do.

Jota has been absolutely sensational since joining Celtic. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 8 goals and provided 7 assists in 17 appearances across all competitions for the club.

There is no question that Celtic fans would love Jota to stay at the club beyond this season. And it appears that the players want the same as well.

As reported by the Daily Record, David Turnbull said about Jota:

“We hope that he signs, but it’s up to them and the club to decide that.

“I’m sure the boys would be keen on him doing that anyway.”

Celtic must try their best to keep Jota beyond this season

Jota has come in and quickly become one of the most important players in Ange Postecoglou’s side. There were a lot of questions about him when he arrived in the summer, after failing to find his feet at Benfica and Real Valladolid on loan.

There is only one question now though and it is whether Celtic can keep Jota at the club beyond this season.

On current form, Jota might very well be the best player in all of Scotland. Not only is his output superb but his overall play is as well. He is the kind of player who can make something happen out of nothing. And right now, he is doing that consistently.

Taking up the option to buy would immediately make him one of the biggest signings in the history of the club but it is almost a no brainer, considering how he is playing at the moment.
