Insider gives huge Jota to Celtic permanent transfer update

Jota has been an absolute standout for Celtic ever since joining the club on a season-long loan from Benfica in the summer. There were a lot of questions when the Portuguese winger was brought in. He had enjoyed a spectacular youth career but had not been able to find his feet at the senior level. His performances for the Hoops till now have been nothing short of brilliant though.

Celtic have an option to buy included in the loan deal for Jota which is believed to be a transfer fee around £6.4 million or €7.5 million.

And while taking up that option will instantly make Jota one of the most expensive signings in the history of the club, it is almost a no-brainer at this point of time, after the performances that he has produced in recent weeks and months.

There appears to be a big update on the situation surrounding Celtic and Jota, as it looks like the club will advance in their plans to bring him in on a permanent basis. Pedro Almeida tweeted out:

Celtic must try to sign Jota on a permanent basis

Jota has come in and quickly become an undroppable part of Ange Postecoglou’s side. He played a big part in Celtic’s goal against St Johnstone which booked their place in the Scottish League Cup final.

Possessing incredible dribbling ability, an eye for goal and as well as the skill to set up his teammates, Jota is one of those rare players who can make something happen and turn games on their heads on his own.

Thus, if an opportunity to make a deal happen is on the table then Celtic must definitely take it. It might all ultimately come down to Jota though and what he wants to do moving forward. Judging by his recent performances, there is not expected to be any lack of interest in his signature.
