Victor Wanyama confirms future plans after Celtic admission

Victor Wanyama is one of the most talented players to represent Celtic over the past decade or so. While his stint at the club might not have been long, it certainly made his impact and still fondly remembered to this day. And the midfielder has been linked with a return to Parkhead quite a few times over the years although it has never materialised.

As reported by Football Scotland, Wanyama even admitted recently that he would like to play for Celtic again one day.

Wanyama currently plays for CF Montreal though and his current contract is believed to run till the end of 2022. And it looks like he has no plans to leave the MLS side before that.

As reported by TVA Sports, Wanyama revealed that he has no plans to leave CF Montreal in the immediate future and will be there next season as well:

“I still have a contract here, I love the club and just want to focus on our task. I will be here next season too.”

Wanyama set to remain at CF Montreal next season despite Celtic admission

After slowly fading away during his time at Tottenham Hotspur, Wanyama has played regular football once again, ever since joining CF Montreal. And while things can change very quickly in football, it does look like he will remain with the MLS side next season.

While it has been a long time since Wanyama left Celtic to join Southampton, in what was a club record move for the Hoops back then, the Kenyan midfielder is still just 30 years of age. As a result, he still has time on his side, if a return to Parkhead was to happen some day.

With the lack of options in the middle of the park, Celtic could certainly do with a player like Wanyama at this point of time. But is difficult to say what the situation will be around a year later when his contract with CF Montreal is set to come to an end, unless he ends up extending it.
