Celtic star ranks ahead of Manchester City’s Joao Cancelo

Celtic find themselves in a terrific run of form at this point of time. Ange Postecoglou’s side have won seven of their last eight games across all competitions while drawing the other one. As a result, they have climbed from sixth to second in the Scottish Premiership table and find themselves still in the race to reach the Europa League knockout stages. One of the biggest reasons for their recent upturn in form has been the performances of Jota.

The Portuguese winger arrived from Benfica on a season-long loan in the summer and there were a lot of doubts about the move then. There are very few doubts now though as Jota has been absolutely superb.

At the weekend, he scored twice against Dundee FC while providing an assist as well. And as a result, he has been ranked ahead of Manchester City’s Joao Cancelo in the list of top 10 Portuguese players playing abroad this week.

As reported by Maisfutebol, Jota was given a score of 9.1 by SofaScore for his performance against Dundee FC, which was the second best this week. That means that he finished ahead of Manchester City’s Joao Cancelo, who put in a brilliant performance against Manchester United, and finished third with a score of 8.6.

Jota has been brilliant since joining Celtic on loan from Benfica

It would be an understatement to say that Jota has impressed since arriving at Celtic in the summer. He has been incredible and is already one of the most important players in Postecoglou’s side and arguably one of the best in Scotland on current form.

Celtic are believed to have an option to buy around £6.5 million included in his loan deal and there are already calls for the club to make his stay permanent.

Recent rumours have suggested that the club are open to the prospect of making it happen but it might end up coming down to what Jota wants to do moving forward.
