Celtic transfer target scores hattrick in incredible 8-0 win

Celtic might be in the middle of a good run of form right now but it is safe to say that they do not have the deepest squad, and a few injuries can derail their momentum once again, similar to what happened earlier in the season. As a result, the Hoops are expected to make quite a few additions in the January transfer window.

As we approach the winter transfer window, Celtic are being linked with several interesting players. Daizen Maeda is someone who has been rumoured with a potential Parkhead switch for a while now. And it is not hard to see why.

The Japanese star is enjoying a terrific campaign and is currently the leading goalscorer in the J1 League. And he showed fans just a glimpse of what he can bring to the table, by scoring a hattrick in Yokohama F. Marinos’ 8-0 win over FC Tokyo.

The first goal showed his pace, taking the ball from near the centre circle and then finding the back of the net. The second one was a great penalty. And with the third one, he showed his movement and aerial ability, scoring a header to complete his hattrick.

Celtic have been heavily linked with a move for Maeda in January

Maeda is currently leading the scoring charts in the J1 League and this hattrick will only extend his lead at the top.

Celtic were always expected to make a move for J1 League stars in January, when their league campaign is over. And it is safe to say that if they can sign Maeda, it would be considered as a major coup on the part of the Hoops.

Maeda can be the perfect signing for Ange Postecoglou’s style of football. In fact, it was Postecoglou who had brought him to Yokohama F. Marinos.
